I really liked the idea of Lulu from Will Richardson. I can see Lulu being used in alot of schools and it can be great for a writers workshop or even class book publishing to exchange students writing. Students love to have people read their writing.

Developing Expert Voices – the concept and APCalc are being used for a math class . It can be used as a class blog and collabrate among the audience. It can also be used for assignments. When is comes to blogging I would never have thought to use it in a math class. I liked this idea!

I personally want to thank Jen Cronk for letting me not come to class today. I did go see the LAX game at Edgemont Schools. Westlake’s uniforms made this team look like they were a team that have played before. Isn’t it great what a uniform can do? The last time I saw a LAX game whas 20 yrs. ago when I watched my husband be a refee for the middle school games. I was very excited that my son AJ was starting in the line up. The game started and within the first five mins. Westlake scored and of course the player that scored was my son who has never played LAX before. The excitment in the crowds was overwhelming. You see my son’s name will go down in the books as the first player on the newly formed LAX program at Westlake to score. I am so proud of him as any mom would be. He had an awesome game. He made 2 assits and scored another goal. At the end the score was 13-4 with a win for us. After the game I saw my sons face light up and the joy he had playing this rough game. It reminds me of football but more violent since there are sticks. I never knew that there are differrent size sticks for the postions that you play. The defense players have sticks that are as tall as them. It was a wonderful way for Westlake to start their season off. When my son got off the bus his face was still glowing. The first thing he did was hug me and thanked me for being there. He also told me how much fun he had and LOVES this new found sport.

Again I can’t thank Jen Cronk my WEB 2.0 teacher for letting me see this game and having a memory that I will have for the rest of my life! GO WILDCATS LAX!!!!!

Well, at least my district allows me to blog. I feel much better that I can finish the assignment from last night.

The Science Leader Ship Academy is a very informative blog. There were blogs about the school, teachers, and events that were held at school! I liked that the children got to use their own voice and let you know what they were feeling. This sight is informative and gives the reader an insight on how a person is feeling and also I can learn about the school. This blog is like journaling.

Secrect Life of Bees: This blog is an open response to each chapter from the book the class is reading. The writer can write or draw a picture to the responds. This blog is more like a specialized blog or a message board. Readers can respond to the author of this blog.

The Third grade class blog is a blog that is only used in that classroom. It only pertains to that class. It is like the class website. but instead it is a class blog. I feel that I didn’t want tolink it due to the fact It seem to me a more private.

I hope today’s class gets done pretty early. My son is playing his first LAX game a new sport that he has never attempted. It is also brand new in his school so this is going to break ground for history. I would love to see him for the first time even though I have no idea how the game is played. My other son has his first mod baseball game. Of course my daughter needs to go to work by 7. This is a bad time for me to take this class but like i said I am always ready for the challenge

WOW! what a day today. I had a very nice day in my class. As a matter of fact I think they are finally getting ready to move on to the 6th grade. They were working very hard today and were also very excited to work on our class project for Earth Day. Since I have some awesome artist we are going to make a class mural of a beautiful landscape and the same landscape with litter. Since I finally got my white board athe end of the year no less…..I am going to Recycle and Reuse the card board box that it came in for our mural.

After school we had our faculity mtg. As usual nothing but the same old stuff. After that I went on the the County Center for an evening of workshops given by the county health dept. I am going to be a co-director of a day camp this summer and all camps in Westchester-day or sleepaway need to attend. It was Okay until the one class I had to take was Aquatic Safety. This was intense and for the lateness of it I just wanted it to end and get home. Needless to say I made it home by 9:30. Boy I am really tired and I started looking at the blogs of the assignment. My brain is fried. I will try to get on it at work tomorrow. Hopefully I can get on to this site to do the assignment from my class computer. Until tomorrow GoodNight and Blog!

Wow I can’t believe it has been 1 month since I looked at a blog or even try to get onto edublogs! Where has the time gone?  I was very undecided to continue with Web 2.0 part 2 . It was hard to get through Round 1.  I do have to say that I love a challenge and I am really looking forward to this session. Ofcourse I forgot how to get on the the site but thank goodness my computer remembered me and logged me right on.  Now this makes me a little nervous since I don’t remember my username and password hopefully when I get home I will get my old e-mail from edublogs and print out this information.  Well like I said this week, will be a challenge and even finishing this Web part 2.0. Round 2 let’s begin!

After a fun filled day being home with my three kids and husband due to the last snowstorm for the season, ( I hope) is Spring ecer coming? I am now relaxing and thinking about my week of web 2.0. I am still not sure if I like blogging or not.  It seems alot more intense than e-mailing and instant message. I can see that flickr might be a site that I will like to get more familiar with.  I would love to take a course to learn all the bells and whistles. I can see me using this site in my class to bring more technology to them instead of the projects that come in on poster boards that are plain and not exciting. The Did You Know Video opened my eyes and so did my instructor Jennifer Cronk to a world I didn’t know.  She even thinks I can do part 2 of her next class and maybe she is right.  I know I had a “first try” and I think I will take that “second try.”

There is sooo much to do with flickr.  I enjoyed the tutorial and looking forward to trying out flickr. I would like to try to use the tutorial side by side as I am learning this program.  Hey Jen why don’t you teach a full week course on Flicker. I’ ll  set up an account and will be down loading my pictures from my Las Vegas Trip that I took during Mid winter recess.  I am going to try to create a poster for my girlfriend that opened my eyes to some beautiful sites such as the Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire and Hoover Dam.

This course has changed my mind especially to globalization and how far beyond we are as teachers with all this technology and some of us haven’t even touched it. . As far as the district that I am in we are soooo behind the times with technology.  What is going to happen to theses students when the get through the system and get into the real world? They are going to be lost.  I am glad I learned about blogging but once you learn something new you need to practice.  That is going to be the hardest thing for me to do since nobody in my building didn’t even know what blogging

This is my first class with web 2.0.  Our class has it’s own “Web Educator Blog”.  The first day we watched a video called “web 2.0 in under 5 mins.”  It was so above by head and it flew by so fast that I said to myself am I in the right class.  The video had great music but by did the video go by fast.  I really didn’t understand it.

 ”Did You Know” powerpoint presentation was a blog for this class.  I like this presentation and it home with technology.

This is above my knowledge with computers. I feel very lost and confused. I hope to get through this by Friday!I was planning on taking the second part but I can’t get the first part! UGH!!!
